Diabetic Nephropathy is a serious kidney-related complication that can arise from type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It is characterized by progressive damage to the kidney's filtering units, leading to the leakage of protein into the urine and a gradual decline in kidney function. Uncontrolled high blood sugar and blood pressure are key contributors to its development and progression. If left unmanaged, diabetic nephropathy can lead to chronic kidney disease and eventually end-stage renal disease, requiring dialysis or kidney transplantation.
