#Left Ventricular Hypertrophy
Left Ventricular Hypertrophy (LVH) is a condition in which the muscle wall of the heart's main pumping chamber, the left ventricle, thickens and enlarges. This thickening usually occurs in response to an increased workload, most commonly due to chronic high blood pressure (hypertension) or aortic valve stenosis. While initially an adaptive response, sustained LVH can impair the heart's ability to pump blood effectively, increasing the risk of heart failure, arrhythmias, and sudden cardiac death. Management focuses on treating the underlying cause, typically hypertension.
